Ethiopian Martinique

The Personal Standard of His Royal and Imperial Majesty, the Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Elect of God, and Emperor of Ethiopia, as Duke of Martinique.

On 21 April, 1966, the Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie I visited Jamaica. The island, home to a sizeable Rastafari community, jubilantly welcomed His Majesty. Eventually, in TTL, the idea was proposed that sovereignty of Jamaica should be transferred from the House of Windsor to the House of Solomon. The British Crown assented, and Haile Selassie I became the second monarch to occupy the Jamaican Throne. In 1986, twenty years after his visit to Jamaica, he made a good will visit to Martinique, wishing for more equality between the French and Carib peoples in the Island. Eventually, the idea was proposed that the sovereignty of Martinique should be transferred from Elysee Palace to the House of Solomon. The French Republic assented, and Haile Selassie I became the third monarch to occupy the Martinican throne.
